The message of the project is spread to new counsellors

On November 28th Jacob Knudsen from VIFIN, Sine Bjerre Martinussen and Anne Fedder Henriksen of UU Vejle visited Odense to make a presentation to students at the University College Lillebelt of continuous education (UCL). The students are taking a Diploma in educational and vocational counselling and the current module is about innovation and quality of guidance counselling.

Since there was only 3 hours available, the main topic was the process. How the challenges around guiding young people lead to a new idea, which then later became the project, where forum plays and digital and social media are brought together to provide new methods of guidance counseling. This was also an opportunity for the partners of the project to share their experiences of the FT method to date.

Luckily there was enough time for students to test some of the methods themselves. Jacob was in charge of a motivating warm up, after which Sine and Anne continued with value exercises.

The feedback on the afternoon was positive, both in terms of forum plays and digital media as a method, but also for including exercises, so the students themselves could feel how the methods worked on them, and thereby also see how they might work on the target group.

Guidance counsellor Pia Melchior Petersen expressed an interest in repeating the arrangement the next time the module runs at UCL. All parties are now looking forward to that!
