Actvise ends with international conference

The Actvise – Forum Theatre project completes its activities with an international conference on the topic of new methods in youth work and guidance counselling. The conference is a two day seminar on the 4th and 5th of October 2012 and takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Actvise inspires new cooperation

Hammersmith and Fulham Education Business Partnership is delighted to be building on the success of Actvise by launching a new EU project this Autumn.  The EU Comenius programme has funded the piloting of the EBP’s successful Take Two programme in Finland and Bulgaria.

Experiences made with forum plays and digital media

In June the Actvise project’s partners from UU Vejle made forum plays with a group of young people age 13 to 14. Besides the ‘classic’ version with value exercises and forum plays they added the digital post-activities. They recorded the plays with mobile phones, but used external microphones to make sure the sound was optimal.

Two professional forum theatre groups are working in Finland

In Finland there are at least two professional theatre groups who are using the forum theatre method. In Central Finland and in the Jyväskylä area a theatre group named Teatterikone has done already three “Youngsters of forum” forum theatre plays which are played in the city theatre of Jyväskylä.

London meeting; handbook development and planning conference

During the January project meeting, the Actvise partners discussed the coming development and production of the project handbook on forum theatre and digital media. They also planned the final project conference. Read more …

Producing the handbook

Work on the handbook for practitioners is moving along. The partners are busy producing material and planning video shoots to make video examples, so the handbook becomes easy usable and applicable. Read more about the work here…

Book review: Art based methods in youth and social work

The FT method is spreading

In Denmark the use of the forum method is inspiring the partners to use it in other projects and contexts. VIFIN is currently part of a Youth in Action project where they will use forum plays to create reflection and discussion about democratic values.
